Our Story

Passion – Creativity – Commitment

Our story began in 1989, when my late grandfather, Joe “Patio Joe” Villemarette, opened Oklahoma’s first pond store, Patio Garden Ponds, in Oklahoma City. He gave me my first job at 14, working in the greenhouse and helping clients with their plant selections. By the time I turned 16, I had enough experience and a driver’s license to begin offering pond cleanings and repairs on my own. That’s all it took for me to discover my lifelong passion.

Today, we are Oklahoma Ponds, with a retail store and display yard and full-time construction and maintenance divisions, run by an incredible team of people who love this work as much as I do. Together, we’ve grown into one of the country’s leading pond companies, and for consecutive years we’ve been honored as a “Top Frog,” Aquascape’s recognition of the Top 20 pond companies in the nation.

Every water feature we build is unique — tailored to the space, the vision, and the budget of each client. The price ranges below are a guide, since every design depends on size, materials, and custom features.

Small Ponds — $10–12K, built in 1–3 days

The perfect introduction to water gardening: an 8’ x 10’ ecosystem pond with a stream and waterfall, natural rock, aquatic plants, a complete Aquascape filtration system, underwater lighting, and boulders up to 200 lbs.

Medium Ponds — $23–30K, built in 10–13 days

A more immersive 12’ x 15’ ecosystem pond blending natural rock, lush aquatic plants, and a gentle waterfall. Large enough for koi and year-round enjoyment, with boulders up to 800 lbs, Aquascape filtration, and underwater lighting.

Artisan Ponds — $45–85K, built in 12–20 days

Built to be the focal point of your landscape — like a 28’ x 20’ pond crafted with boulders up to 1,400 lbs, native rock, aquatic plants, oversized filtration, and integrated LED lighting. Fully customizable.

Custom Ponds — $80–99K+, built in 25+ days

The highest level of design and craftsmanship we offer: large-scale builds with expansive streams, integrated lighting, and bold stonework that transform the entire landscape — and stay low-maintenance.

Solo Fountains — $5–7K, installed in 1 day

A simple, elegant way to add the sound of water: a fountain on a hidden underground basin with LED lighting, decorative pebbles, and up to 400 lbs of accent boulders. Dozens of styles to choose from, with very little maintenance.

Fountainscapes — $16–27K, installed in 3+ days

True showpieces featuring three or more coordinated fountains with LED lighting, special waterfall effects, and up to 1,400 lbs of accent boulders. Perfect for courtyards, entrances, and outdoor living spaces.

Small Pondless Waterfalls — $7–12K, built in 1–3 days

Typically 6’–10’ long with an underground basin, LED lighting, and boulders up to 300 lbs — the relaxing sights and sounds of water without the upkeep of a pond.

Large Pondless Waterfalls — $15–30K+, built in 3–8 days

12 to 25+ feet long with multiple cascades and pools, an underground basin, LED lighting, and boulders over 1,000 lbs. The drama of rushing water with minimal maintenance.

Our Project Process

1. Discovery call or display yard visit: a quick 15-minute call or visit to talk through your ideas, budget, and timeline.
2. On-site visit: we meet at your home to see the space firsthand and confirm design possibilities.
3. Quoting and final design approval: you receive a detailed quote and scope of work; once approved we finalize the design, schedule your start date, and introduce your Construction Foreman.
4. Execution and quality control: our skilled team builds your project with precision and care.
5. Final walkthrough and service meeting: after a detailed walkthrough, we introduce you to our Maintenance Team and schedule follow-up visits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is landscaping included around my new water feature?

It can be! Some clients prefer to focus their budget on getting the exact water feature they’ve always wanted, since landscaping can easily be added later or done DIY. Unless noted otherwise, the prices shown in this guide are for the water feature itself.

Can my pond or water feature run during winter?

Absolutely! For ponds, it is crucial that the pond is running through the winter months, and we build all of our pondless waterfalls to be enjoyed during the freezing weather. All fountains can be winterized if desired.

Can I do the maintenance myself?

All of our systems are designed to be easy to maintain. Many of our clients handle routine care themselves and schedule us for a yearly deep cleaning. For added convenience, we also offer one-time service calls and ongoing monthly maintenance plans.

Is your work covered under warranty?

Yes! All workmanship is covered for 2 years. The equipment we install also comes with its own manufacturer’s warranty. We cover parts and labor for the first year; after that, replacement parts still covered by the manufacturer’s warranty may have a service fee for installation.

Can you redesign an existing water feature?

For sure! A lot of our work is rebuilding old and outdated features, or features that were not installed correctly.
